Having a problem with gnats (Carrion Humpback flies) and their larvae eating your eggs or hatchlings? I know we have! This box seals tight so they can not get to your valuable eggs. The lid has a fine mesh fabric over it to allow as much or as little airflow as you need. Box can be reused many times, made from crystal clear, heavy and durable plastic. Recyclable, and while disposable, we have used them for two seasons now with no signs of deterioration.
Pro Tip- We found that these actually have too much ventilation and our eggs were drying out too quickly. We used the foil duct tape to cover all but a 1" square of the mesh and it works perfectly! Also- DO NOT open the lid until all of your eggs have hatched! One little fly gets in there and it is all over! We generally leave our hatchlings in the box until all egs have hatched. By then umbilicals have all healed and you are safe.
